Title: Tractor-trailer truck driver (Winch Tractor Operator/Truck Driver Required)
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, On Call, Overtime, Weekend, Day
Salary: $28.00 to $35.00 Hourly for 44 hours per week, Group Insurance Benefits
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: Fort McMurray, Alberta (1 vacancy)
Skill Requirements:
Education: Some high school
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Driver's Licence (Class 1 or A)
Experience: 5 years or more
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
Type of Trucking and Equipment: Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles), Tractor-trailer, Tractor-trailer B train, Dump
Type of Travel: Short-haul, Local, Provincial/territorial
Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Maintenance and repair reports, Trip reports, Accident or incident reports
Communication Equipment Experience: Citizens band (CB) radio, Cellular phone
Weight Handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
Specific Skills: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Loading and unloading of goods, Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Perform brake adjustments, Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness, Perform preventive maintenance, Perform emergency roadside repairs
Additional Skills: Professionalism in customer service
Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract), Drug test
Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding
Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Valid driver's licence
