Lean Manufacturing Supervisor Full-time

Job Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Salary: $75,000-$90,000 plus 15% bonus + relo

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is the primary resource for supporting the plant in its lean transformation. This position will assess areas of the operation in need of improvement and provide hands-on implementation of the tools and processes needed to eliminate waste in the manufacturing environment.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Recommends and implements improvements to processes, methods and controls and product design.
Ensures a safe work environment.
Manages and directs continuous improvement activities to ensure that the overall business objectives are met, efficiency is continuously improved and cost reduction goals are achieved.
Works closely with the plant management to develop long term strategic plans.
Works with the Product Line Managers to develop and implement a robust Lean Future State Strategy.
Ensures plant activities adhere to Lean standards and principles and provides a high level of technical and operational recommendations in meeting productivity, material flow, set-up reduction, quality and customer service goals.
Measures progress toward improvement goals and reports results through meetings and visual display of information boards.
Provides documentation of results and benefits achieved through Lean activities.
Ensures on-going education of all plant employees in the concepts and practices of Lean activities.
Promotes a continuous learning and improving environment.
Provides the leadership required to develop and maintain consistent conformance to operating, quality, safety, security, and housekeeping procedures.
Proactively addresses operational issues in the areas of responsibility.
Serves as the primary point of control for all plant layouts
Ensures systems and processes are in place to properly instruct employees in continuous improvement activities.
Supports broader business needs such as operation reviews, customer visits, presentations, etc.
Adheres to, enforces, and promotes all facility policies, procedures, and standards, including safety, quality, and operations.
Identifies, facilitates and organizes Lean training for employees as required or needed.
Participates in the development of the plant annual and long-range budgets and strategies.
Understands and adheres to current quality and control policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in an engineering related field. An Industrial Engineering degree is preferred.
A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in manufacturing and at least 2 years leading Lean activities.
Six Sigma Black Belt is a plus.
Must have experience with implementing and teaching: Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, JIT, Demand Flow, Single Piece Flow, 5S, Visual Management, TPM, Continuous Improvement Processes, SPC, Problem Solving, Waste Reduction and Set-up Reduction.
Proficiency with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is required. Knowledge of project tracking software preferred.
Must have strong interpersonal skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; understanding of financial measurements; and superior project management capability.
