Debug Engineer

JOB SUMMARY
The Debug Engineer shall be responsible for the development and implementation of a structured training system for all debug functions within Jabil Shanghai. ? The Debug Engineer shall be responsible for the management structure to support Debug Technicians within Jabil Shanghai. The reporting structure will encompass a matrix of management responsibility within each cell between the Debug Engineer and the Workcell Test Engineer. ? It shall be the responsibility of the Debug Engineer to perform their function in accordance with the documented policies, procedures and processes defined within Jabil Shanghai and Jabil Corporate.
PREREQUISITES
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics ? Minimum 5 years relevant working experience ? Minimum 1 years working experience in PCBA Debug/Repair/Trouble Shooting or relative Engineering field. ? RF knowledge and trouble shooting experience for complexity products ? Exposure in Networking Diag experience in ? Cisco product ? Cisco product equivalent such as (Nortel/Junipter/Huawei/etc) ? Literate in computer languages such as C++, Visual Basic/etc ? Good understanding of ASICs; IC; Component functions ? Good passion/interest in trouble shooting and Failure Analysis ? Can accept high pressure and have Basic English skill
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Debug Engineer shall provide structured internal training programs for ICT, Functional, System & ESS Debug Technicians covering the specific product architectures, debug techniques and tools, electrical fundamentals and control systems. ? The Debug Engineer shall provide a structured program that allows the development and growth of debug skill base from internal candidates through modular and proactive training system. ? The Debug Engineer shall provide and interface to support and identify external education programs to continually develop the skills and prospects of the debug groups in Shanghai. ? The Debug Engineer shall manage the Debug Structure in terms of the following: - ? To provide an interface to the Workcell assessing product technologies and capacity requirements to realize and manage the overall headcount, skills requirements and resourcing strategy to support the specific Workcell. ? Holiday & urgent management and control of backfill support to the manufacturing teams ? The Debug Engineer shall assist where required in the development of customer specific debug requirements as well as investigate and realize new generic debug equipment and techniques as required. ? Coordinates resolutions of problems with customers, suppliers and Debug Technicians. Provide 1st level failure analysis when needed. ? The Debug Engineer shall monitor technician and Workcell debug performance through regular measurement of critical metrics of Diag throughput, Mis- diagnosis and Debug WIP with the objective of maximizing efficiency and effectiveness of the debug function within each Workcell. He/She should assist in identifying root cause along with the Workcell staff to minimize any potential impact. ? Monitors and analyzes test fallout data. Conducts in-depth diagnosis on high fallout boards to determine the root cause of problems and to recommend corrective actions.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Electrical / Electronics engineering skills including demonstrated knowledge of schematics, circuit theory, and troubleshooting. ? Excellent oral & written communication, and interpersonal skills. Work requires initiative and judgment, within standard procedures and a thorough knowledge of department and corporate policies and procedures dealing with the area of responsibility. ? Works under minimal supervision
