Title: Pressure vessel welder
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Shift
Salary: $24.00 to $28.00 Hourly for 40 hours per week
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: Hamilton, Ontario (3 vacancies )
Skill Requirements:
Education: Not applicable
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Welder Trade Certification, Canadian Welding Bureau Certification, WHMIS Certificate
Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
Major Work Area: New fabrication
Type of Establishment/Work Setting Experience: Manufacturing, Industrial
Area of Specialization: Custom fabrication, Pressure vessels
Welding Techniques: Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG), Flux core arc welding (FCAW), Submerged arc welding (SAW), Vessel
Welding Positions: All positions
Materials: Steel, iron and heavy metals
Weight Handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
Specific Skills: Interpret welding process specifications
Additional Skills: Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes, Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications
Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots, Safety glasses/goggles, Gloves, Mask, Face shield, Welding helmet
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination
Essential Skills: Reading text, Numeracy, Working with others, Critical thinking
