Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of high school, Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Occupational Health and Safety Certificate, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, WHMIS, Driver's License, Propane in construction record of training
Experience: Experience an asset
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
Major Work Area: New construction (Pre-engineered)
Type of Establishment/Work Setting Experience: Industrial, Commercial
Area of Specialization: Erect structural steel, Install reinforcing steel, Install pre and post-tensioned cables, Assemble and erect metal buildings
Welding Techniques: ARC
Specific Skills: Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms, Align, weld or bolt units in place, Work at heights and in confined areas, Erect hoisting equipment, Install rigging
Additional Skills: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications
Security and Safety: Bondable, Drug test
Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Safety equipment/gear, Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat, Safety glasses/goggles, Safety harness
