Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of university
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Not required
Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
Work Setting: Publishing house
Special Interest Editing: Biographies, Cooking
Target Audience: Children, General public, Adolescents, Adults
Production Editing Activities: Photography and captions, Editing on-screen, Paper editing, Desktop publishing, Final products copy
Specific Skills: Evaluate suitability of material for publication, broadcast or publication on Internet, Negotiate royalties with authors and initiate payments to freelance staff
Additional Skills: Plan and co-ordinate activities of staff and assure production deadlines are met
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Attention to detail, Sitting, Large workload
